Some local governments worldwide are not fully prepared to give relief shipments the consideration they deserve and may debit extraneous storage and demurrage fees. We assist our shippers and consignees in working with these offices to reduce and refund fees whenever possible. THE SHIPPING ADVISOR also offers guidance and assists with donation letters, valued inventories, certificates of origin and/or conformity normally required by overseas customs points. Organizations wishing to import donations duty free must receive authorization from their country’s Ministry of Interior for proper exemption status prior to arrival of relief shipment at destination port. |
